The August 2001 meeting of the General George S. Patton, Jr., Chapter of the CASSAR was held in the Library of the Berylwood Officers Club on Friday, August 10, 2001. The meeting was called to order by Vice President John Bayles at 12:00 p.m. Following the Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, and SAR Pledge, members and guests adjourned to the buffet for lunch. Six Compatriots were present: Vice President Bayles, Alan D. Buckley, Joseph Coffman, Robert Nedry, Ronald Risley, and Jay C. Wood.Following lunch, Vice President Bayles reconvened the meeting at 12:45 p.m. and proceeded immediately into the program, which included a spirited discussion of the politics of the day.

Old Business
- Secretary: The Minutes of the July 2001 meeting were submitted and approved.
- Treasurer: The Treasurer's Report for July 2001 was approved, subject to audit.
- Registrar: Compatriot Wood that there are new new chapter applicants, one of which is pending. In addition, Compatriot Richard Hawley wishes to acquire membership for his three grandsons. Finally, the 1880 U.S. Census in now available on CD-Rom and may be ordered at http://www.FamilySearch.com.
- Color Guard: The Chapter Color Guard will participate in the Constitution Day Ceremonies at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, September 22-23, 2001.
