The July 2002 meeting of the General George S. Patton, Jr., Chapter of the CASSAR was held in the Library of the Berylwood Officers Club on Friday, July 12, 2002. The meeting was called to order by President Jay C. Wood at 12:00 p.m. Following the Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, and SAR Pledge, members and guest adjourned to the buffet for lunch. Six Compatriots were present: President Wood, John Bayles, Alan D. Buckley, J. Stephen Hurst, Robert Nedry, and Ronald Risley. One guest were present: Rosemarie Risley.President Wood reconvened the meeting at 12:45 p.m.
Committee Reports
- Secretary: The Minutes of the June 2002 meeting were submitted and approved as perfected.
- Treasurer: The Treasurer's Report for June 2002 was approved, subject to audit.
- President's Report: President Wood reported on the participation of chapter members at the Camarillo Flag Day ceremony. He reported that American History Teacher of the Year recipient Mary Ford sent a letter of appreciation to the Patton Chapter for its support of patriotic efforts in Ventura County. Compatriot Wood will be attending an Eagle Scout service for Ian Robert Whittinghill on July 20. Finally, he reported that National Society dues will increase as of October 31.
