The regular monthly luncheon meeting of the General George S. Patton, Jr., Chapter SAR was held Friday, 10 December 2010, in the Garden Room of Marie Callender’s Restaurant, 1295 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura, CA. The meeting was called to order by President Robert Taylor. The Invocation was given by Chaplain Gary Smith, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Pledge to the SAR.
In attendance were nineteen Compatriots: President Robert Taylor, Vice President Bill Hurley, Treasurer Bill Bays, Registrar George Horne, Genealogist Eric Stassforth, Chaplain Gary Smith, Ward White, Hale Hamilton, Dr. Bill Henry, Steve Hurst, Ron Risley, Dr. Garland Middleton, Richard McMullen, Lou Krueger, Dick Hawley, Frank Budroe, Ed Holt, Dan Sword, and Ken Lynch. The eleven guests were John Alexander, and Compatriots’ wives Mrs. Darian Taylor, Mrs. Mary Hurley, Mrs. Willie Budroe, Mrs. Betsy Horne, Mrs. Lois Lynch, Mrs. Rosemarie Risley, Mrs. Shirley Hamilton, Mrs. Bernie Smith, Dr. Sunny McMullen, and Mrs. Rosalee Middleton.
Recent birthdays were recognized, along with anniversaries, Pearl Harbor Day, and the Troops.
Member and guest introductions were made. Steve Hurst and Dick Hawley were recognized as State officers.
Reports:
Treasurer Bill Bays presented the treasurer’s report, which was approved as read. He announced that the lunch will probably go up in price. He will also look into possible changes to the menu.

Ron Risley was recognized with a presentation of the SAR flag and the Oak Leaf Medal.
Election of Officers:
The current slate of officers was re-elected, with the change of Garland Middleton as Chaplin and Ron Risley as Historian. President Robert Taylor recognized past presidents present at the meeting.
Old and New Business:
- Ron Risley announced that the Eagle Scout essay has been referred to CASSAR.
- President Robert Taylor announced the 125th NSSAR conference in Winston-Salem, Wreaths Across America, and the software order which was to be submitted.
- Eric Stassforth discussed his involvement with CAR.
- Ed Holt announced the Santa Barbara dinner for the Military Order of WW II.
- Dan Sword raised the issue of organizations which attempt to sell directories, etc. using information gathered from members.
Program:
Rosemarie Risley presented a very interesting program on “The Meals of Christmas Past”.
Drawing:
Darian Taylor conducted a drawing for prizes

Closing: The meeting was adjourned following the SAR recessional and the benediction by Chaplain Gary Smith.
